Greenlandic suaasat
A hearty Greenlandic soup of seal meat, onion and rice, simmered until the meat is tender.

Simmer the meat
Put the seal meat and onion in a pot with the water. Bring to a gentle boil and cook over low heat until the meat is tender; this may take several hours. Keep it at a gentle simmer and check that it is tender before continuing.

Add the rice
Once the meat is tender, add the rice. Cook over low heat until the rice is done, following the cooking time on its package. Serve the soup hot.
